Acrylic, Oils, Spray Paint and Collage on Canvas

91 (H) x 91 (W) x 4 (D) cm

Inspired by Tina Turner’s Proud Mary, this work explores defiant survival—the instinct to keep moving when everything around us says stop. The painting moves from restraint to eruption, mirroring the shift from endurance to assertion. Mary becomes a vessel carrying the weight of experience, while the river represents time, displacement and circumstance. To keep rolling is an act of resistance.
